WRC History
Expand dropdownThe Women’s Center opened in 1990/1991 as a resource center for women out of the efforts of the feminist women’s organization Womyn space. The Women’s Center then was a small student organization wanting to serve a necessary and vital function on campus. On a campus as large as EMU, the Women’s Center has served as a place where women can not only find resources, information, advocacy, and referrals, but also a place where they can hang out between classes, access supplies, and be an intricate part of our programs. In 1991, EMU Student Government provided funding for the development of a student run program. This student run program has shifted into a Center ran by a full-time professional, with a graduate assistant, and several student employees.- Get Involved Expand dropdown
