I.T. recommends that passwords or passphrases (watch the "E-Safe: Passphrases - Having Safe 密码" video) have a minimum length of 16 characters because longer passwords are harder to crack. Almost any 8-character password can be cracked with powerful computers in less than two hours 和 10 characters in a matter of days, but a 16-character password could take years to break.

To reset a forgotten password, you will need to have an alternate (non-EMU) email address in your account profile so that you can receive a verification code. If you have never added an alternate email address to your account profile, you will need to contact the 734服务台.487.2120, or visit them at 106 Halle 图书馆.

To reset your forgotten password, you will be asked to input a new password that will be easy for you to remember but hard for others to guess. The Resetting Your Password process will time-out, so it is best to select your new password before you begin.

To make passwords strong, they should be at least 16 characters long, 包括字母, 数字, 标点符号, 还有拼错的单词. Here are a few examples of strong yet easy to remember passwords:

Perform the following steps to reset your forgotten password:

  1. 去 http://account.erebyaparis.com.
  2. 单击 忘记了密码 button (Do Not fill in the 字段).

3. Type the verification code(s) in the field below the code(s) displayed 和 then click the 验证 button (the codes displayed may be one or two typed words, or an image of text).

注意: The verification process may not be required at all times. 单击 刷新 button to obtain different verification codes. 单击 Audio button to toggle between text 和 audible verification codes.

4. Type your NetID username in the NetID field 和 then click the 搜索 button.

5. Type the verification code you received in the email message in the 验证码 field 和 then click the 校验码 button.

6. Select a new password 和 type it in the 新密码 和 确认密码 字段. 单击 更改密码 button.

8. 单击 注销 button in the Update Profile window. When the 注销 window displays, close your browser window before attempting to log in to My.Emich再次.
