Social 安全 Numbers

Social 安全 Numbers are Personally Identifiable Information (PII) tied to a specific individual. They are unique, nine-digit numbers issued to U.S. 公民, permanent residents, and temporary (working) residents for taxation, 社会福利, and other purposes. Social 安全 numbers are a primary target for identity thieves. EMU does not use Social 安全 Numbers to identify individuals except when required by law.
